Wasim Jaffer and Michael Vaughan’s playful exchanges on social media are really funny. These two ex-cricketers show their funny and teasing side when they joke around with each other. This time, they’ve had another light-hearted exchange.
India recently lost a three-game one-day series against Sri Lanka on their home ground, with the score being 2-0 and one game ending in a tie. This was the first time in 27 years that the Indian team lost a 50-over series to the Sri Lankan team.
The Indian cricket team, known as the Men in Blue, played two matches. They drew the first one but lost the second by 32 runs. In the third match, the Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, was defeated badly by the home team. They were all out for only 138 runs while chasing a target of 248, and they lost the match by 110 runs.
Former England captain Vaughan asked former Indian player Jaffer about the series result, possibly making fun of him. Jaffer responded by reminding Vaughan about England’s poor performance in Australia in the longest format of the game, known as the Ashes.
Wasim started by posting on social media platform X, “It’s been a while since we did this. Let’s do an #AskWasim. Ask your questions and I’ll try to answer honestly :)”. Vaughan responded to the former Mumbai player, “Hi Wasim .. What was the outcome of the recent ODI series in Sri Lanka? I’ve been away and missed it .. Hope everything is good”.
Wasim then responded to his counterpart from England. “I’ll explain it in terms you might understand, Michael. India won as many games in that series as England has won Test matches in Australia in the last 12 years,” the Indian replied.
Although India didn’t win any games in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, England hasn’t won a single Test match in Australia since 2011. That win was the last time England won the Ashes 3-1 in Australia.
