Wasim Akram’s Bold Stand on Virat Kohli vs Sunil Gavaskar IPL Spat

Indian cricket legends Sunil Gavaskar and Virat Kohli came up against one another as the ace commentator went on to openly criticize Virat Kohli for his strike rate. In return, Virat Kohli gave it back in his own style, but the former cricketer once again criticized Virat Kohli for wanting appreciation at a strike rate of 118.

Reacting to the whole saga Former Pakistani legend Wasim Akram feels that Virat Kohli should not have done that.

Gavaskar, who has been serving as a cricket commentator for almost over 2 decades now, was not at all happy after seeing the way Virat Kohli replied to his comments. Virat Kohli, after his match-winning performance against the Gujarat Titans, said that he doesn’t read what is said on social media, and he has been doing and winning matches for his country for the past 15 years.

In his interaction with Sportskeeda, Wasim Akram said, “Both are greats. Sunny Bhai, as a cricketer and as a human being, I know him off the field. As a commentator, he has been doing it for God knows how many years, probably for more than two and a half years. And coming to the great man, Virat Kohli, he is a top player, a modern great. In fact, he is an all-time great in history, given the kind of performances he has had. “I think Virat shouldn’t have said it.”

Speaking ahead, Wasim Akram said that he does not think that either of them will drag the issue forward, as both tend to move on quite quickly.
