“Was not thinking about…”Shubman Gill’s massive statement after Titans clinched a thriller against Punjab kings

The GT Titans skipper said that he doesn’t take on the burden of captaincy when he’s batting in the middle. Shubman Gill was appointed as the captain of the Gujarat Titans when Hardik Pandya was traded to the Mumbai Indians. So far, in 8 matches, Shubman Gill has won 4 matches as the captain of the side and lost the same number of matches.

In his team’s victory over the Punjab Kings, Shubman Gill played a massive role, scoring 35 runs with the bat. The Gujarat Titans, so far, have gotten 8 points from 8 matches. Speaking at his post-match presentation, Shubman Gill said that he wanted to finish the match quite early but felt it was good to get those two points.

Gill also made a joke, saying that everything is good except the slow overrate.

Shubman Gill said, “I would have liked to finish it earlier; good to get those two points. It’s been very exciting for me to be able to take up this role. Except for the overrate, everything is good.”.

Shubman Gill further went on to say that while he’s batting, he wants to play as a batter without taking on any captaincy.
Shubman Gill said, “When I am out there batting, I want to play as a batter. He (Livingstone) was trying to rush me there, but the ball that I got out, I would have made that decision even without that bit.”

The Gujarat Titans next assignment will be against the Delhi Capitals on April 24.
