Virender Sehwag Picks The Indian Playing XI For T20 World Cup 2024, No Place For Hardik Pandya

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has picked his playing XI for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Surprisingly, he didn’t pick Hardik Pandya, who is playing average cricket for his team Mumbai Indians. Sehwag discussed on the Club Praire Podcast with Adam Gilchrist about possibly choosing either Shivam Dube or Rinku Singh for the lower middle-order batting spot.

Sehwag made another surprising choice by including Sandeep Sharma in his bowling lineup instead of Arshdeep Singh and Mukesh Kumar. Sandeep Sharma has been performing exceptionally well since joining the RR side as a replacement, and Sehwag believes he deserves recognition in the T20 World Cup.

The former Indian opener clarified that Hardik Pandya will be included in the final 15-member squad chosen by India at the end of April, but he decided not to include him in his own playing XI.

Sehwag picked Shivam Dube instead of Pandya to strengthen the lower batting order of the Indian team. He chose Rishabh Pant as the team’s wicketkeeper over Jitesh Sharma, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan.

In the bowling department, Sehwag has picked Jasprit Bumrah, Sandeep Sharma and Mohammed Siraj as the main pacers and Kuldeep Yadav as the frontline spinner.
