Virat Kohli’s Eyes On To Break The Record Of Ricky Ponting And Virender Sehwag In The Upcoming Series Against New-Zealand

The former captain of the Indian team, Virat Kohli, is in remarkable form nowadays. Kohli has played a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka this year, in which he scored 113 runs in the first match and, in the third match, he scored an unbeaten 166 runs. In the three ODIs match against Sri Lanka, Kohli scored 283 runs and was awarded the player of the series.

Virat Kohli broke many big records in the previous series against Sri Lanka. Kohli broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar of 20 centuries by scoring 21 ODI hundreds at home. Kohli also destroyed Sachin’s record of scoring a maximum of 10 ODI centuries against the Sri Lankan team.

Now Virat Kohli has to play a three-match ODI series against New Zealand at home. Now Kohli’s target is to break the record of former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting and former Indian legend Virender Sehwag.

Virat Kohli has scored 5 centuries in 26 ODIs against New Zealand. Indian Legendary batter is in the second position on the list, with former Sri Lankan veteran Sanath Jayasuriya scoring the most ODI centuries against the Kiwi team. Both of them have scored 5-5 centuries each.

However, former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting and former Indian opener batter Virender Sehwag jointly hold the top in terms of scoring the most ODI centuries against the New Zealand team. Both have scored 6-6 centuries. In such a situation, if Kohli scores two centuries in the series against New Zealand, then Ponting and Sehwag’s records will also be destroyed.
