Virat Kohli Will Play At No. 3 Only, Says This Former Cricketer

Wasim Jaffer, former Indian cricketer, offered his opinions on Virat Kohli’s recent performance and suggested that he will definitely be India’s no. 3 batsman at the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022. He believes that Virat Kohli, a talismanic batsman with a remarkable strike rate and average in T20 cricket, is not someone who should be written off. Jaffer is also of the opinion that when Virat regains his form, it will be even better than it was prior to the present slump.

Since November 2019, Kohli has not scored an international century. He has been going through a lengthy dip. Kohli failed to reach the half-century mark during the England tour and is not traveling with the team for the current white-ball tour of the Caribbean or for the next ODI series against Zimbabwe.

According to Jaffer, who was speaking on the Sharechat app’s audio broadcast of “CricChat Powered by Parimatch, “Virat will remain in his original No. 3 place in the team. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma should open, and other players like Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, and Ishan Kishan can contribute significantly to the squad. I feel that the aggressive approach that India has undertaken is very nice to witness. India’s chances of winning (T20 World Cup) are bright,”

Jaffer also considered what may have occurred if he had been a part of a busy international schedule when all three formats were being played.
“Fitting in all three formats of cricket would have been exceedingly tough (ODI, T20, and Test). You must change and adapt to the format, or you will cease to exist.

Despite my high esteem for players like Cheteshwar Pujara, one cannot play like him in this era, or you’ll merely play Test cricket, which is also not guaranteed.”
