Numerous matches have been played together by Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir. The team that won the 2011 World Cup consisted of them. Both players come from Delhi and began their careers at the state level. The similarities do not stop there. The twosome are known for being aggressive in the field, always willing to voice their opinions. Sreesanth, former Indian pacer with some fire in him, has chosen an all-time XI that contains both of these players recently. The all-time “calmest” team picked up by Sreesanth was nothing but shocking since all names he gave have a reputation of being very hot-headed on Sportskeeda.
“Virat Kohli will bat with Gautam Gambhir at opening position. Ricky Ponting at No. 3 while Sourav Ganguly comes in second down. Ganguly will be captain and Ponting vice-captain. Afridi Shahid is his name; you can say anything about Afridi but don’t forget about Shakib Al Hasan who umpires don’t want to dismiss even once. Thereafter Kieron Pollard, Harbhajan Singh, Shoaib Akhtar followed with Andre Nel as the last man into the middle.” He added: “How could I exclude myself from any playing XI?
In spite of their well-publicized disagreements on the pitch, Gambhir has continued to show respect towards Kohli.
As the newly appointed coach of Team India, Gambhir mentioned, “The bond I have with Virat Kohli is one between two grown-ups. Each person has the right to fight for his jersey and come back to a winning locker room.”
Gambhir stated that the team has to portray 140 crore citizens and make them all proud at the end of the day.
Piyush Chawla was on both teams and told an anecdote related to them.
“We were doing a show for me and Gauti bhai. There was this question: “When Virat reached his 50th century who did he take the single off?” I couldn’t answer it but Gambhir did know. And he’s like ‘No way you can say anything bad blood between us; Gauti bhai is all class man. One of the best ever’,” he spoke.
