T. Dilip, the trainer for the Indian cricket team, commented on an idea that he brought for the team’s training session on Monday before their Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai. The concept behind this activity was to involve all players as a whole unit. “The whole purpose of today was to have it all together as one unit where there were two parts. The first part was a competition drill and we considered how hot it is down here in Chennai. So we ensured that while speaking less, we maximized effect by intensity control only. In other words, we made two groups and had some small contest regarding catch, and the team with less mistakes won that contest; hence Virat’s team won today,” said Dilip in a video posted on BCCI’s X account
India will kick off its home season when they face off against Bangladesh in Test series opener at M.A Chidambaram Stadium from 19th to 23rd September. The second test match would take place at Green Park Stadium located at Kanpur between 27th September and 1st October.
Dilip additionally highlighted how the squad trained for both outfield as well as closely placed fielders under difficult humid conditions faced in Chennai City.
The session was further divided into one for bowlers and another for all rounders, where fielding places like outer and inner catchment’s as well as offensive fielding were ensured. Then, for the crucial five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, India shall go to Australia in order to book a seat in the 2025 World Test Championship final which is scheduled to take place at Lord’s on June 11-15 next year.
