Virat Kohli Reveals His ‘Master Plan’ Before Retirement

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has been candid about his recent form and his intentions to win the Asia Cup and World Cup for the team. He is currently rested for the ongoing tour to the West Indies.

Virat Kohli has received harsh criticism for his continuing bad form, which is also a part of his lengthy century drought. Over the course of 78 international innings, the top India batter has failed to reach the three-figure milestone since November 2019. But the former captain of India has hinted to make a comeback for the big tournament next month. Kohli has made it obvious that he intends to give everything he has to the best of his ability.

He scored 11 runs in the first innings and 20 runs in the second innings in the rescheduled Test at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. Kohli managed just one run off three balls in the second T20I before being sent out by Richard Gleeson. He scored 11 runs off 6 balls in the third T20I, including 1 four and 1 six, before being bowled out by English pacer David Willey. Additionally, he only managed to score 16 and 17 runs in two games during the ODIs.

Virat Kohli started his wish for India to win the Asia Cup and World Cup in a statement posted by Star Sports on Twitter. Also, he promised that he would devote his 100% to India. “My main aim is to help India win the Asia Cup and the World Cup, and for that, I am ready to do anything for the team,” said the former Indian captain.

According to some sources, he will take part in the 3 ODI matches that will be played when India tours Zimbabwe in 2022. The three ODI matches are scheduled for August 18, 20, and 22. For this tour, the squad is yet to be finalised.

The Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format from 27 August to 11 September. Earlier Sri Lanka was about to host this event but due to the economic crisis the venue has been shifted to the UAE.
