‘Virat Kohli And Me Can Bowl Few Overs In ODI World Cup’, Rohit Sharma Hilarious Statement During The Press-Conference Of Asia Cup’s Squad Announcement

The Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2023 has been announced by the BCCI today, 21 August. The tournament is set to start on August 30 and it will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, where all the matches of team India will be played in Lanka. The squad announcement for the Asia Cup was done during the press conference where the chief selector Ajit Agarkar was also present along with the Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

During the media interaction, the Indian skipper hilariously told that he and the star Indian batter Virat Kohli will bowl a few overs for the team in the ODI World Cup.

The board announced the 17-member squad and most likely the fans would see a similar squad for the ODI World Cup with some minor changes. While interacting with the media, Rohit Sharma said,””Hopefully Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli can bowl some overs in the World Cup (laughs).”

The Asia Cup will be a practice for all the top Asian teams for the ODI World Cup set to happen in India. Earlier, there had been so much debate and discussion among the team regarding the hosting of the Asia Cup. The BCCI did not want to send the team.

India will play its first match against Pakistan Cricket Team at Pallekele on September 2. After that Rohit Sharma and company will have an interesting clash with Nepal on September 4.

Talking about the ODI World Cup, the marquee event will be solely hosted by India. On October 5, at Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat, the first encounter would take place between the last edition’s finalists England and New Zealand. India will play its first match against Australia on October 8 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
