Former Indian batter Dilip Vengsaekar has recently commented that despite their various success in the cricket field, both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are different players.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been the pillars of India’s batting lineup across formats for the past decade, establishing and surpassing numerous records along the way. Kohli recently achieved the milestone of becoming the fastest to reach 13,000 ODI runs. Rohit Sharma also created a milestone and became the second-fastest to achieve 10,000 runs in the history of ODIs.
While talking to India Today, Vengsarkar marked the difference between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He said that Kohli is termed a fit cricketer while Rohit is known for his talent.
“Rohit and Virat are completely different players. Virat is extremely fit, Rohit is talented, and both are talented. If Rohit works hard on his fitness, he can play for five more years,” Vengsarkar said.
He further added, “Rohit Sharma had a bit of a laid-back attitude, unlike Virat because Virat was there in the face,” he continued. “He was aggressive and positive. Rohit is a tremendously talented player, there’s no question about his talent. His skill level and mental toughness are superb. His execution of shots is absolutely amazing.”
Both Hitman and Kohli have been outstanding in the ongoing ODI World Cup. Kohli has smashed the most runs in this ODI World Cup and has 711 runs in his kitty, on the other hand, Rohit Sharma has 550 runs to his name.
