Former South African and RCB star Ab Devilliers feels that RCB needs Virat to bat through the middle overs so that the batting unit can “fire all cylinders.”.
RCB have once again gotten off to a poor start in this year’s IPL. Apart from Virat Kohli, none of the of the other batters have shown form or intent.
Several big names like Faf du Plessis,Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green have failed with the bat.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ab Devilliers said, “Hopefully, he (Virat) keeps going with his good start, because RCB needs that glue in the middle overs. We need him to get through the first six overs; that is ultimately how I want to see him play. Let Faf take more risk upfront, but Virat, I want you to be there over 6–15. That is when the RCB is going to fire from all cylinders. Watch out for that.”
Speaking about RCB’s start in this year’s IPL, Ab Devilliers said that it’s not that bad, nor is it too good.
Speaking about the same, Ab Devilliers said, “RCB… not a bad start, but not great. It is in the middle, and they need a couple of wins. They will be hitting the road, and hopefully, they find a good fortune away from home before they come back to the Chinnaswamy.”
