The star Indian batter, Virat Kohli, was snapped at Mumbai Airport while heading to Indore to join the Indian squad for the second T20I against Afghanistan. Kohli made a stylish arrival in his lavish Mercedes car, adding a touch of flair to his departure for Indore to reunite with Team India.
Kohli was absent from the first T20I due to personal reasons, but he is set to return for the remaining two matches of the series. After a convincing six-wicket victory against Afghanistan in the initial T20I in Mohali, India is gearing up for the second match at Holkar Stadium, Indore.
After a long gap of 14 months, Virat Kohli marked his comeback to India’s T20I squad. His previous participation in the shortest format was on November 10, during the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final loss to England.
Kohli stands as the top run-scorer in T20Is, amassing 4008 runs in 115 matches which includes a century and 37 half-centuries for India. His career-best T20I score of 122 was scored against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup match in September 2022. With a remarkable track record, Kohli aims to maintain his excellent form from the year 2023.
In the absence of Virat Kohli during the 1st T20I on January 11, Thursday, Tilak Varma took the No. 3 position. However the batter managed to get only 26 runs in 22 balls.
