Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Afridi who is injured and will miss out on the tournament due to a knee injury is also traveling with his team. On Thursday, PCB’s official Twitter handle shared a heartwarming video where Shaheen Afridi met with the Indian players including Yuzvendra Chahal, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul. Nearly every Indian cricketer asked Shaheen about his injury but the conversation between Shaheen Afridi and Rishabh Pant is making headlines.
The moment Pant came to meet Shaheen Afridi, the Pakistani pacer jokingly said, “Yaar main soch raha hu aapki tarah bas batting shuru kar du, ek haath se chhakke lagaau (I’m thinking of becoming a batter like you, start hitting sixes with a single hand).”
Pant who is known for his jolly nature came with a sarcastic reply and said,” ‘fast bowler ho toh effort lagaana padega sir! Compulsory hai (If you’re a fast bowler, you have to put in effort. It’s compulsory). The Indian wicketkeeper then asked Afridi on how long would it take for him to recover, to which the Pakistan pacer replied, “5 weeks.”
