Sameer Rizvi made a remarkable start to his IPL journey, smashing a huge six off the first ball he faced from Gujarat Titans spinner Rashid Khan during the seventh IPL 2024 match at Chepauk on Tuesday.
Fans were eagerly waiting for MS Dhoni to arrive at the crease after the dismissal of Shiva Dube, however, Rizvi, stepped up to bat before MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja in the 19th over, debuted his IPL batting career after securing a lucrative Rs 8.4 crore deal. He enjoyed a dream start by hitting two sixes in his first four deliveries.
Rizvi impressed in his inaugural IPL 2024 encounter by confronting Rashid Khan, one of the tournament’s top bowlers. With all confidence, Rizvi flawlessly executed a sweep shot, dispatching the ball over the boundary for a six.
Rizvi played a sensible knock showing maturity and gathered 14 runs against Rashid Khan bowling in a single over. While he had demonstrated this ability in the Uttar Pradesh T20 league batting in the same rhythm was really a delightful sight for the fans.

Talking about the match, while batting first, Chennai scored 206 runs at the loss of six wickets and restricted Gujarat Titans to 143/8 to win their second game of this season.
