During his recent trip to Indore for the second T20I against Afghanistan, India captain Rohit Sharma made a memorable impression on a local traffic police officer, Ranjeet Singh. Ranjeet is famous for his moonwalking dance moves while handling traffic. He had met Rohit before and had asked for his autograph. However, he couldn’t obtain it at that time due to his responsibilities.
However, at this time during the team India’s visit for the second T20I game, Rohit not only recalled the previous meeting but went out of his way to show gratitude to Ranjeet. In a gesture that has resonated with many, the Indian captain not only signed an autograph but also added a heartfelt message. To ensure that Ranjeet received it, Rohit handed over the autographed item to the team bus driver.
Expressing his gratitude on Facebook, the traffic police officer commended Rohit Sharma for his humility. He emphasized that a player’s greatness is not just determined by their sportsmanship but also by their friendly mindset.
“When the Indian team came to Indore for the last time, I met India’s captain Rohit Sharma ji. I asked him for his autograph but I could not take him due to duty, but the captain remembered this. This time while going he gave his autograph and his love towards me in words and gave it to the driver sir and told him to give this crazy man Ranjeet. Hearty thanks captain sir for your love.. A player does not become great only by sports, similar thinking makes him great,” the Police officer wrote the entire episode in his post.
Currently, the team India is leading the three-match T20I series by 2-0 but the comeback of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has not been so impressive. In two back-to-back matches, Rohit Sharma crawled down to the pavilion without scoring a single run.
