After passing on the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad in IPL 2024, MS Dhoni has been batting without any constraints. He displayed his impressive form in CSK’s game against LSG on Friday, April 19, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Dhoni also hit a six that traveled a distance of 101 meters, delighting the crowd at the venue.
It was also the 16th anniversary of CSK and Dhoni in the IPL. On April 19, 2008, the Super Kings defeated the Kings XI Punjab, now Punjab Kings, by 33 runs at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. Dhoni batted at No.4 but only managed to score 2 runs before being dismissed by James Hopes.

In the match against LSG, Dhoni remained unbeaten on 28 runs off 9 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes, as the Super Kings posted a total of 176 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Batting at No.8, Dhoni came to the crease after Moeen Ali was dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi in the 18th over. Despite his late entry, Dhoni utilized his batting skills effectively and injected momentum into the innings with some aggressive strokes.
Dhoni’s tally of 65 sixes in the 20th over of the IPL reflects his dominance and power-hitting ability in the tournament.
