Former Australian great and IPL 2012 champion Brett Lee backs KKR to go all the way and win IPL 2024. The two-time IPL champions finished in the top two for the first time in the history of the IPL. Shreyas Iyer and company beat Hyderabad in a convincing way to progress into the finals of the tournament.
Speaking about KKR’s chances this season, Brett Lee said that he had high hopes from Bangalore and is completely devastated as Bengaluru are knocked out of the competition. However, Brett Lee believes that KKR is the most consistent team in this year’s IPL and deserves to win this season.
In his interaction with ANI, Brett Lee said, “I was disappointed when RCB was eliminated last night because I had picked them to win from the beginning. On paper, though, and in its current configuration, it will be difficult to defeat KKR. They are most likely the team that merits finishing first, in my opinion. They’ll be difficult to defeat because they advanced straight through to the finals on Sunday.”
Former Sri Lankan cricketer Tilakaratne Dilshan also shared the same opinion as Brett Lee, hailing KKR as the most consistent unit in the season as compared to the other teams.
Dilshan said, “I believe that playing KKR frequently will help them do well throughout the tournament. RR performed admirably; they were excellent cricket players. However, they do fluctuate a little bit toward the halfway point. But when it comes to bowling, batting, and failing, KKR is performing consistently. In my opinion, KKR will win this IPL, hopefully.”
