Unveiling the ‘Bazball’ Culture: Joe Root’s Surprising Revelation

The England team has started playing a new aggressive brand of cricket termed “Bazball” under the leadership of Ben Stokes.

However, one of the most prolific batters in England’s test set-up, Joe Root, revealed that the England team under Stokes leadership is not a big fan of team meetings.

Joe Root, who has yet to mark his presence in the ongoing series against India, revealed that the England team prior to matches does not do team meetings.

Joe Root said that players under Stokes leadership are not bound to sit in a meeting room; rather, they all enjoy their company talking about stuff other than the game.

In the opening encounter of the series, England found themselves trailing by 190 runs before making a staggering comeback. In the second encounter too, they fell short by 143 runs, but they were not able to repeat the heroics of the previous encounter.

However, Joe Root backed England’s Bazball strategy, saying that they were going to play the same brand of cricket throughout the series, regardless of the result.

Joe Root even heaps praise on Ollie Pope’s match winning 196 in the opening encounter in Hyderabad against India. Joe Root said that this was one of the best overseas innings that he has witnessed over a long period of time.

After the second test match, England went back to their pre-series base in Abu Dhabi for a much-needed break before the third encounter of the series, which starts on February 15 in Rajkot.
