Star Sri Lankan batter Dinesh Chandimal has flown back home in the middle of the second test between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. He was already dismissed in the second inning, and Sri Lanka will have to include a player as a substitute in place of Chandimal to do fielding.
In an official statement, the Sri Lankan Cricket Board said, “Chandimal will be returning home immediately. Sri Lanka Cricket, his team-mates, and the coaching staff fully support Dinesh Chandimal at this moment of need and request that the public respect his and his family’s privacy.”
Speaking of the match Chandimal scored a brilliant half-century in the match, scoring 59 of 104 deliveries. Sri Lanka have completely outplayed Bangladesh in this test match, as they have set up a target of 531 for Bangladesh to chase.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, has already lost seven wickets. Sri Lanka is currently leading the series by 1-0.
