Trent Boult, the Mumbai Indians (MI) fast bowler, talked about how his early wickets were made possible immediately after the comfortable 100-run victory in Jaipur on May 1 over Rajasthan Royals (RR). The cricketer was impressive, bagging three wickets for only 28 runs in 2.1 overs. After getting rid of Jaiswal in the first over, he removed Nitish Rana in the second. Boult finished the innings of Rajasthan by getting out Jofra Archer. After his performance, Boult is saying how batters come at him right from the start. He felt that Jaiswal was out to have a go.
“Maybe they all want a piece of me and really want to prove a point. I know Jaiswal was definitely looking to hit me. I got along very well with him during my time at the Royals. He’s a quality player and loves to hit boundaries. We did a lot of thinking together about the match, and it was great to get those early wickets to set things up,” Boult said on Star Sports.
With this three-wicket performance, Boult is now in third place in this season for leading wicket-takers, having taken 16 wickets in 11 innings, with an average of 21 and economy rate of 8.80, including his best of 4 for 26 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Meanwhile, MI is on a roll, having won six in a row. They are now sitting pretty atop the points table with seven wins in 11 matches, amassing 14 points. Up next, they take on the Gujarat Titans on May 6 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
