Trent Boult confident enough to come good against Vaibhav Suryavanshi

New Zealand’s Trent Boult has an interesting encounter lying ahead with Rajasthan Royals in his next IPL match. He made comments about an emerging young player, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who made recent news by scoring a hundred. Although Boult is less worried about the buzz surrounding the brilliant debut by the teen, he appears all ready to battle it out at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Boult said, “I’ve bowled to some top batsmen like Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers in these tournaments. So, I’m not really worried about a 14-year-old. But it will be fun to take on somebody who’s brave and in great form right now.”

Suryavanshi became the youngest player in men’s cricket history to score a T20 century off 38 balls, while Boult gave the lad accolades for a highlight of the season. Boult added: The world saw what he did the other night. It was a great innings from such a young kid. That’s what this tournament is about-players stepping up and seizing their moment, and I think he did that well.

Boult equally talked about his expectations for the match, adding that the pitch would encourage plenty of runs. “I don’t expect it to be another run-fest. This ground has quite a reputation for runs with a very good pitch and a fast outfield. I’ve played here for the last three seasons, so I’m hoping that experience will help me through in this next game,” he said.

According to Boult, the last five matches won by the Mumbai Indians have resulted from teamwork as well as Jasprit Bumrah’s return. But the biggest asset for the support from the team currently is the young Suryakumar Yadav, whose aggressive brand of cricket has already created the hype for the match that is forthcoming against Boult and Bumrah, possibly the two best bowlers in the game at the moment.
