Travis Head Creates Huge Milestone, Becomes Fourth Fastest To Score An IPL Century

In the IPL 2024 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday, April 15th, opening batsman Travis Head played an outstanding innings.

Head scored a devastating century, making 102 runs off just 41 balls which includes 9 fours and 8 sixes. He completed his first IPL century in just 39 balls, with 84 of his runs coming from boundaries.

Head is now placed fourth on the list of players with the fastest centuries in the IPL. He surpassed former Australian great Adam Gilchrist’s record of scoring a century in 42 balls against Mumbai Indians in 2008.

The former RCB player who was widely known as universal boss, Chris Gayle holds the record for the fastest hundred in the history of IPL. Gayle achieved this feat in just 30 balls playing against Pune Warriors India, back in 2013. The second person on the list is former Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan who scored his IPL century in 37 balls while David Miller has got this in 38 balls while playing for Punjab Kings against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The star Australian batter now also holds the record for scoring the fastest hundred for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Before it, David Warner had this record where he got a century against KKR in just 43 balls, back in 2017.
