Star Indian player removed from Team India’s test squad, name will Surprise you

In an important news update for the cricket lovers, India’s Shubman Gill who is the captain of the team, is believed to be dismissed from the national squad just before the second Test match against South Africa which is going to take place in Guwahati from November 22.

A source has indicated that Gill departed the squad on Friday and is now in Mumbai after a flight from Guwahati.

Shubman Gill told to take rest for two to three days

As per The Times of India, Gill will be having a rest at Mumbai for the initial period of two to three days, afterwards he is supposed to see Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala who is a specialist doctor. For now, there is no travel plan for him to the BCCI Centre of Excellence, and further updates on his recovery are expected in the next few days.

Gill sustained his injury on Day 2 of the Kolkata Test. He got his neck injured while attempting a sweep shot at the very beginning of India’s first innings. Despite the ball going for a boundary, Gill instantly held his neck in pain and was finding it hard to continue. He had to leave the field retiring hurt and could not come back for the rest of the innings.

Later on, the Punjab batter also missed the Indian team’s chase of 124 runs as he was taken to the hospital for precautionary scans.

The Kolkata Test ultimately went to India, and Gill, who had previously been a stellar performer, registered just four runs before getting off the ground. Just when he was enjoying his amazing run with the bat during the World Test Championship cycle—950 runs at an average of almost 80 over 14 innings—he got injured, which is really unfortunate.

With Gill’s presence in the second Test now assured, vice-captain Rishabh Pant, who is going to lead the team in Guwahati, has become the main subject of the discussion.

Pant naturally took charge in the first Test when Gill withdrew from the field on Day 2 due to injury, but this time the responsibility will be much greater. India is down in the series, and the second Test will be crucial for a resounding comeback.
