Top 5 Most Expensive Released Players By The IPL Franchise

On November 15, every team submitted the list of the released players and retained players. Now the franchise has time to think about how to make their squad powerful in the forthcoming season by spending the remaining purse in hand on some clinical players in the mini-auction 2023, which will be held on 23rd December 2022 at Kochi.

But some expensive players of IPL 2022, have been released by the franchise and they will be available in the mini-auction.

The big name, which has been released is Kane Williamson, the previous season’s skipper of Sunrise Hyderabad. After this bold move, SRH will find a new player in the mini-auction to replace the ex-skipper. He was retained by the orange army for 14 crores in the previous edition.

Another player released by the SRH is Romario Shepherd. In the previous edition, he was picked by the orange army for 7.75 crores. This pacer is known for hitting tremendous boundaries in death overs and a clever fast bowler, but he wasn’t able to show his talent in the previous edition that’s why he is released by the franchise.

The third big name in the released list is Nicholas Pooran. This Caribbean destructive player was the most expensive West Indian player ever bought in the auction for 10.75 crores, but he didn’t show his performance up to mark and team management decided to release him in IPL 2023.

One of the biggest surprising names in the list of released players is Mayank Agarwal. He is the skipper of Punjab Kings in the IPL 2022, but his performance in the previous edition wasn’t even close to the expectations of the team management and fans.

Lucknow SuperGiants is also released one of the most expensive players this time. Jason Holder was picked by the LSG for 8.75 cr in the auction. Now the team management will try to buy a good replacement of this West Indies players from the rest of the purse in the mini-auction 2023
