In this match, India’s opener batter Shubhman Gill scored 126* runs off 63 balls which includes 12 fours and 7 elegant sixes. In the reply, the kiwi’s batter collapsed in front of the Indian bowler and registered 66/10 in 12.1 overs. With this win, the Indian team also clinched the series by 2-1.

  1. Gill became the youngest Indian batter to hit the T20I century. He scored a scintillating century at the age of 23 years, 146 days. He beat former Indian batter Suresh Raina, who completed it in 23 years and 156 days.
    Pakistani batter Ahmed Shahzad is the youngest batter to knock the blistering T20I century. He was 22 years 127 days old when he completed this feat.
  2. Shubhman scored 126* runs, which is the highest individual score by an Indian batter. He surpassed Veteran batter Virat Kohli, who scored 122 in Asia Cup 2022 against Afghanistan.
  3. Gill’s 126* against New Zealand set another record. This is the highest individual run scored by any batter in the world against New Zealand in T20Is. Before this, South African batter Richard Levi scored 117 in 2012.
  4. Shubhman became the youngest Indian batter to score centuries in all formats. He is the fifth Indian batter to do so after Raina, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul.
