To Whom Captain Hardik Pandya Blamed After The Humiliating Loss To Sri Lanka In The 2nd T20I?

In the second T20I played at Pune Sri Lankan batter showed a great batting and bowling display which helped them to secure a 16-run win over India. Dasun Shanaka, the captain of the visitors played one of the best knocks of his career which helped them to level the three-match T20I series 1-1 with one match more to go in Saurashtra.

Talking about the match in the post-match presentation Indian captain Hardik Pandya looked a bit sad about the way India played especially in batting and bowling.

While talking to the presenter Hardik said – “Both bowling and batting – powerplay hurt us. We made basic errors which we shouldn’t do at this level. Learning should be the basics we can control. You can have a bad day but shouldn’t be going away from basics. In this situation, it’s very difficult.”

Talking further the Indian skipper talked about the harmful ‘No Balls’ which came from Arshdeep Singh. In the 19th over Arshdeep went for 2 No balls while Umran Malik also had some before Arshdeep over.

Pandya further added, “In the past as well he’s bowled no-balls. It’s not about blaming but no ball is a crime. Surya had a fantastic run at four. Anyone who comes into the team – you want to give them a role they are comfortable in (talking about Rahul at three).”

Talking about the match, Indian captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first. Sri Lanka scored 206 runs at the loss of 6 wickets where captain Shanaka scored 56 runs while Kusal Mendis scored 52.

Chasing the target of 207 runs, India looked nowhere in the match. In the end, Axar Patel(65) and Shivam Mavi(26) showed some efforts to pull out the win but could not.

For the brilliant 56 runs in the batting and 2 wickets, Shanaka was adjudged man of the match.
