This Team Will Go Behind Cameron Green In IPL Auction 2023, Reveals Anil Kumble

The mini-auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) is planned for December 23 in Kochi, Kerala. Punjab Kings, like other teams, have started formulating plans to strengthen their roster and are likely to bring in new players before the new season.

Anil Kumble, a former head coach of the team, predicted that the team will be searching for an international all-rounder. Additionally, he said that the team would want to recruit Cameron Green of Australia at the upcoming auction. The talented all-rounder has played in eight T20I games so far, scoring 139 runs at a remarkable strike rate of 173.75.

Kumble said, ‘’Punjab Kings have let go of their overseas all-rounder in Odean Smith. So, they will certainly look for an overseas all-rounder. So, there is Cameron Green, Ben Stokes, and Sam Curran. In my view they will go for Cameron Green because he gives you a bit of pace, is tall, hits the deck hard, and can also bat in the top three. So that’s something I think Punjab will look to do.”

“And they certainly need an overseas all-rounder. The other two slots for the overseas options they have, they have plenty of options, and they have plenty of money to spend. So, I guess they will probably fill up with an overseas spinning all-rounder and a batter.”

The Punjab franchise will make an all-out effort to secure the final three international berths because it still has INR 32.2 crore in its bank account. Mayank Agarwal, who commanded PBKS during the previous season, has already been fired for failing to deliver the expected results as a leader.

With seven victories and the same amount of defeats in 14 games during the IPL 2022 season, PBKS placed seventh overall. Shikhar Dhawan has been chosen as their new designated leader, and the southpaw intends to turn around the side’s fortunes.
