The Indian selectors have been unfair to Yuzvendra Chahal despite his great performances in limited-overs cricket. It doesn’t make sense to leave him out of the centrally contracted players list.
However, Chahal has not lost his interest in the game and he continues to take wickets for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2024. In the last match against Mumbai Indians, he took three crucial wickets, including that of Hardik Pandya, which played a significant role in his team’s victory.
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has consistently supported Chahal and encouraged him to maintain his aspiration of representing India in international cricket.
Harbhajan Singh said, “He is a champion bowler and best in India. Chahal doesn’t need to prove himself. I hope he wins T20 World Cup for India. I request him to keep his dream of another comeback alive, as a lot of cricket is left in him. He can still win matches for India and I am praying for his return to the Indian team.”
Chahal said that he is not thinking about any result and he looks to enjoy the game. The leg spinner said, “I am not thinking about my comeback as that’s not in my hands. I have stopped going in that direction. My job is to perform for the teams I play for. I am enjoying my cricket and am looking forward to taking wickets for Rajasthan Royals.”
