Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill was all praise for two of the unsung heroes of Punjab, kings Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma, after their team’s loss in the tournament.
The Punjab Kings chased the target of 200, sealing the narrow victory by three wickets. An unknown commodity in the IPL Punjab Kings played a match-winning innings of 61 of just 29 deliveries.
Gill admitted that the IPL is a stage where unknown commodities flourish. In his post-match presentation, Gill said, “This is IPL for you; people who you have not seen will come and win games.”
Shubhman Gill further stated that dropped catches cost them the match against the Punjab Kings.
Speaking about the same, Gill said, “AA couple of catches went down. It’s never easy on a wicket like this when you drop catches. It is difficult to defend runs in these conditions. We were in the game until the 15th over. When you drop catches, you will be in trouble.”
Gill played an impressive knock of 89, helping his team post a cumulative total of 200 on board. Gill felt that the score was good enough to be defended by their bowlers.
Speaking about the same, Gill said, “The new ball was doing something. There are always areas to improve. I think 200 was good enough.”
