This Australia Cricketer Shown Excitement To Become India’s Head Coach After Rahul Dravid

Former Australian cricketer and current head coach of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Justin Langer, has shown interest in becoming the head coach of the Indian cricket team. With Rahul Dravid’s tenure scheduled to end after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Langer is intrigued by the possibility. The recent issuance of an application for the head coach position by the BCCI has sparked Langer’s curiosity about the designation.

While talking to Times Of India, Langer said, “Well, I am curious. I’ve never given it any thought.”
“Since I am aware of the pressures faced by foreign coaches, I have the utmost respect for them, but leading the Indian team would be an incredible responsibility. It would be intriguing, based on the amount of talent I’ve seen in this nation,” he continued.

The secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah had previously stated that Rahul Dravid would need to reapply and undergo the selection process like any other candidate if he wished to continue his role as the head coach of the Indian cricket team.

Dravid initially hesitated to continue coaching the team after the ODI World Cup in 2023. However, given that the T20 World Cup was only seven to eight months away at that time, he and his entire support team were granted an extension.
