Players from Pakistan’s cricket squad have often got themselves into trouble. In some instances, they were even implicated in match-fixing or spot-fixing schemes. As soon as the team loses their match such accusations come from different fans and old cricketers who think they are experts in cricket. For instance, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt were banned for spot-fixing before; and just recently, former Pakistani batter Basit Ali made serious allegations.
“There shouldn’t be any appointment for people that don’t think about their nation. Instigating someone within a game cannot serve as mentoring advice. Evidence can also be provided if required,” said the man aged 53 in form of video currently trending on social sites like YouTube.
Earlier on Basit had commented concerning whether India would go to Pakistan in 2025 for champions trophy tournament.
The subject draws new headlines every day with Pakistan having been chosen as the hosts of this tournament yet nothing concerning India’s participation has been discussed yet.
Finally but not least; PM Modi is due for a two-day visit to Pakistan where he will attend SCO Heads of Governments meeting in October.
According to Basit, “Now, the entire decision lies on the shoulders of PM Narendra Modi. If he agrees then India may travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Otherwise, the ball will be in ICC’s court and then Jay Shah will have a tough time in taking a call.”.
