“The wicket was kind off…”Venkatesh Iyer gives major reason behind KKR’s triumph over RCB

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been handed their second defeat of the season. The Knights of Kolkata have defeated the RCB by 7 wickets.

After KKR’s victory, all-rounder Venky Iyer was all praise for Sunil Narine for his knock with the bat. Sunil Narine played his 500th T-20 game and made it memorable with his show with both bat and ball.

Apart from Sunil Narine, Venky Iyer smashed a phenomenal half century with the bat. However, he was not comfortable and was dealing with back issues.

Speaking about the same, Venky said, “Let us see how my back is. I will know after a scan. The ball was coming on well in the evening. Credit goes to Sunil Narine, whose runs took the pressure off us. We just had to finish the formalities. With a platform like that, you have to maximize (on his mindset).

Also, my fiancé was here today, so it was a special day. (Facing Vijaykumar Vyshak) Pace-off in totality was tough, but if fast bowlers bowled pace-on, it was easy to take them to the cleaners. It happened with us in our bowling innings too.”

RCB’s star batter, Virat Kohli, was heavily Criticised amongst the fans for his knock despite scoring 83* of 59 balls, however, Iyer believes that the wicket was kind of two-paced and it was not easy to bat on.

Iyer further added, “The wicket was two-paced and double-bouncing in the first innings. And it was very difficult to hit boundaries in the first inning. And pitch getting better to bat in the second inning in yesterday’s match at Chinnaswamy.”
