The Rise Of Shoaib Bashir: England’s Youngest Five-Wicket Taker

England and India are currently playing against each other in Ranchi in the fourth test match of the ongoing five-match test series between the two sides.

However, on day three of the fourth test match, which is currently being played in Ranchi, England’s off-spinner Shoaib Bashir created a history for them.
 
The young off-spinner, who is currently 20 years and 135 days old, went on to become the second youngest Indian player to pick up a fifer for England in the longest format of the game. 

In the fourth test match, Bashir picked up wickets from Yashasvi Jaiswal,Rajat Patidar, Ravindra Jadeja,Shubhman Gill, and Akashdeep to register his maiden five-wicket haul for England in the test matches.

However, Bashir’s teammate Rehan Ahmed also picked up his maiden five-wicket haul at a very young age. The leggie went on to pick up his maiden fifer at the age of 18 years and 128 days against Pakistan in Karachi, giving away just 48 runs.

On the other hand, England’s team in the second innings was just bowled out for 145 runs, with Ashwin and Kuldeep picking up nine out of 10 wickets.

As far as team India’s concern,the hosts have scored 40 runs without any loss and need another 152 runs to win the match as well as the series.
