Team India is on a West Indies tour where they will start the campaign with a two-match Test series. Star Indian batter Virat Kohli is playing a Test match in Roseau, Dominica, West Indies after 12 years. Apart from Kohli, Rahul Dravid is the only player who is with the team on this West Indies tour and played that Test match for India 12 years back. However, Kohli is still there as a player but Rahul Dravid is serving the team as head coach.
To remember the golden times, Kohli shared a photo with Rahul Dravid on his official Instagram account and also expressed gratitude that they are here with a good journey but in different roles. The match in Dominica was Kohli’s debut in Test cricket and it was Rahul Dravid’s last match on Caribbean island. The match went to a draw and team India won the three-match series 1-0.
While sharing a photograph with Rahul Dravid, Kohli captioned, “The only two guys part of the last test we played at Dominica in 2011. Never imagined the journey would bring us back here in different capacities. Highly grateful.”
India is already coming with a huge loss in the final of the World Test Championship against Australia. Now Rohit Sharma and the company will have to face West Indies for a Two-match Test Series, Three ODIs, and Five T20Is.
The Test and ODI series will be led by Rohit Sharma but Hardik Pandya will take the captaincy duties in T20Is in which almost all the senior players have been rested.
