Joe Root went on to get his 31st test hundred as he scored a prolific 106. Joe Root added 114 runs with Ben Fokes to bail England out of trouble as the visitors were reduced to 112/5.

With his fabulous knock of 106, Joe Root has become the first English player to score 19000 test runs. Joe Root now has 19014 international runs to his name.

Root scored his 10th hundred in 52 innings against India, which is the most by any batter against them.
