The IPL’s Fresh Blood: 5 Players Ready To Make Their Mark

IPL, one of the biggest leagues in the world, is going to start in a few days. The IPL is known for making superstars that make their mark in international cricket.

Players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh have performed in the IPL and gone on to become some of the biggest match winners for the country.

However, after the IPL auction, several new players are excited to make their mark in the biggest Twenty20 league in the world.
Here are five of the players who are going to feature for the first time in the cash-rich league.

  1. Shemar Joseph: The lanky pace bowler is known for his pace and match-winning performances at the Gabba. He has been picked by the Lucknow Super Giants for three crore rupees and is all set to make a mark in the IPL. Joseph has been signed as a replacement for Mark Wood.
  2. Gerald Coetzee: The South African speedster showcased his power in the World Cup, which was played in India. The pacer has a sheer pace and steep bounce that can trouble the best batters in the world. Coetzee picked up 20 wickets in his debut World Cup and has been picked by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL auction for five crores.
  3. Nandre Burger: Another South African tall left-arm pace bowler, Nandre Burger, is also set to make a mark in the upcoming season of the IPL. Burger impressed the franchise in the test series that South Africa played against India. He picked up 11 wickets in the series. He was brought by Rajasthan royals at the auction for the base price of 50 lakh.
  4. Spencer Johnson: Australian pacer Spencer Johnson grabbed headlines when he bowled a magical spell of 1/3 in his four overs. He has been featuring regularly in the Australian T-20 set-up since then. He has been picked by the Gujrat Titans in the IPL at a huge price of 10 crore.
  5. Ranchin Ravindra: Ranchin Ravindra was the site of the World Cup, which was held in 2023. He made more than 500 runs in his debut World Cup and was one of the most consistent performers for Blackcaps in the World Cup. He was picked up by the Chennai Super Kings in the auction for 1.80 crore.
