Royal Challengers Bengaluru star batter Rajat Patidar has made an emotional post on social media for his role model, teammate, and Indian batting legend Virat Kohli, expressing his gratitude towards Virat for guiding him throughout the IPL campaign.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru made a colossal comeback in the IPL, winning six games on the trot after the side lost seven out of their first eight matches. However, their dream run was ended by the Rajasthan Royals, who had beaten challengers in the eliminator by 4 wickets.
Rajat Patidar was one of the major reasons behind RCB’s inspirational turnaround, as the star batter scored 398 runs in 15 matches.
After RCB’s campaign ended in the IPL, Rajat Patidar made a special post thanking Virat Kohli in which he wrote, “An unforgettable season with the best in the game. I am honoured to have shared the field with my idol, @virat.kohli. Thank you for the guidance and camaraderie.” Patidar’s post was read.
Rajat Patidar drew a lot of criticism before the start of the IPL; the right-hander was not able to make a mark in international cricket. In his debut series against England, Rajat Patidar scored only 63 runs in six innings.
However, once the IPL started, the right-hander silenced the critics by playing wonderful cameos and scoring five half centuries for RCB in the IPL 2024.
