The Impact of ‘Careless’ Batting: Robin Uthappa’s Take on KKR’s Performance

Kolkata Knight Riders struggled for the first time playing against CSK. KKR got off to a brilliant start, scoring 56 in powerplay.
However, the breaks were applied to KKR’s innings when the Spinners took control of the game.

However, ex-Indian cricketer and former KKR opener Robbin Uthappa slammed KKR for their careless batting approach.
In his interaction with Jio Cenima, Robbin Uthappa said that KKR were very poor with the bat and lost unnecessary wickets after powerplay.

Robbin Uthappa said, “Shreyas Iyer batted through the innings but did not do much.”

Uthappa further added, “KKR let themselves down today. 56 from the first six and then back-to-back wickets from Jadeja really put them in trouble. Jaddu was the bowler that caused them an issue.”
Uthappa also supported young Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who tried to reverse sweep Jadeja and got LBW.

Speaking about Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Uthappa said, “You can’t fault Angkrish Raghuvanshi; he is a youngster; he wanted to create an impact. He could have exercised a little more maturity, and he will learn and grow. But the wickets after that were pretty soft, unnecessary to be honest, and that was the downfall for them.”

KKR only managed to score 137/9, which is their lowest total this season.
