The Head Coach Of England Team Is Under Investigation Due To Advertisements Of Betting

In the middle of IPL 2023, there have been allegations of betting on a veteran cricketer, due to which there has been a sudden panic in the cricket world.

England head coach Brendon McCullum has landed in trouble for appearing in online betting advertisements as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) investigates whether it breaches its anti-corruption rules.

The former New Zealand captain became the brand ambassador of betting organization ’22bet’ in January and has since appeared in its online advertisements. Brendon McCullum shared a video on his Facebook page on March 27, in which he is promoting 22bet in the Indian Premier League.

According to the BBC, the ECB said, “We are investigating this matter and have discussed with Brendon and his relationship with 22bet. We have rules regarding betting, and we always ensure that they are fully followed.”

The ECB, however, clarified that McCullum is not currently under any investigation. The Gambling Foundation of New Zealand made a complaint to the ECB about these ads last week.
