The Dharamsala Showstopper: Rohit Sharma’s 12th Test Century and Five Shattered Records

Team India’s skipper Rohit Sharma has been at his absolute best in the ongoing fifth test match against England in Dharamshala.

Rohit Sharma went on to score his 12th Test hundred for India. Rohit Sharma, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal (57), added 104 runs for the opening wicket.

Rohit Sharma found an able partner in Shubman Gill (110) who has been at his absolute best in test cricket after a long time. Rohit Sharma added 171 runs for the second wicket to put India in a commanding position.

However, Rohit Sharma went on to break a few records by reaching the three-figure mark.

  1. Rohit Sharma now has the most international runs as he surpassed David Warner, who had 18817 runs, while Rohit Sharma has 18820 runs till now.

2.Rohit Sharma now holds the record for most test hundred in WTC history (9) surpassing Babar Azam (8). Rohit Sharma has equaled Steve Smith (9).

3.Rohit Sharma also registered his 48th international hundred, equaling Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid’s (48) tally.

4.Rohit Sharma has also surpassed universe boss Chris Gayle in terms of most goals scored as an opener. Gayle had 42 hundreds to his name, while Rohit Sharma has 43* to his name till now.

5.Rohit Sharma has also equaled Sunil Gavaskar as the opener to score the most test tons against England (4).
