“The best batter….”James Anderson reveals his favourite dismissal in test cricket

James Anderson, a veteran England paceman, has referred to the legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar as the best batsman he has bowled to. In fact, the 41-year-old is retiring from Test cricket following the first Test against West Indies at Lord’s, which is ongoing. He has played in the game’s second highest number of Tests (188) and he has achieved 700 scalps at 26.52 average with an economy of 2.79 per over.

James Anderson has taken the wicket of many great batsmen during his 21-year-long Test career among whom is Tendulkar. In anticipation of his last match, he was questioned about the best batsman he has bowled over in the England seamer’s opinion which is none other than Sachin Tendulkar.

“The best batter I would have to say is Sachin Tendulkar,” Anderson told Sky Sports.

Anderson had, touchingly, got Tendulkar out 9 times in Tests, which is very much unforgettable. Additionally, nine times each Anderson has had Tendulkar, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith, Michael Clarke and Azhar Ali out in his career.

In his glorious career, India’s Cheteshwar Pujara holds an infamous record for having been dismissed the highest number of times by the bowler Anderson exactly 13 times. Besides, David Warner, who is a former opener for Australia, has been dismissed a total of 10 times by the English veteran seamer.

Furthermore, Anderson also considered Michael Clarke’s dismissal from the Ashes 2013 at Trent Bridge as his best wicket. Interestingly, he dismissed the then Australia captain by beating his outside edge before hitting the top of his off stump with a peach.

“Anderson scored 81 runs (130 balls) with 17 boundaries to score his first half century at the only ones in his career. Besides, in his final game, this old player expects to equal or outstrip the performance of such famous cricket players as Shane Warne(708-wickets); being the second best wicket(taker in terms of numbers) after this great Australian leg-spinner
