The BCCI Has Decided To Go Ahead With The Split Aptaincy. Hardik Pandya Will De The Next T20I Captain

In the latest development coming out from the Indian cricket team, Hardik Pandya will very soon take the role of Indian T20I captain for permanent. The reports coming from the BCCI suggests that Hardik Pandya will become the full fledged captain of the T20I before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Indians are also following the trends of split captaincy and following the steps of teams like Australia and India. Rohit Sharma will remain the captain of the ODI and Test team and Pandya will take the responsibility of the shortest format of the game.

As per a report from PTI, the apex council will appoint different captains for all the three formats. However, seeing the ODI world cup in 2023, BCCI is unlikely to disturb the current captain.

Talking about Hardik, the all-rounder had proved his calibre in the IPL 2022 where his team Gujarat Titans lifted the trophy in the first go. He also proved himself in Ireland as captain when the team went for a three match T20I series.

Talking about the ODI captaincy, KL Rahul is the vice-captain of the Indian Cricket Team but it will be interesting to see behind whom the BCCI goes for the ODI captaincy after Rohit Sharma’s departure.
