Pakistan chief Mohsin Naqvi was not at all pleased with the team’s performance after Men in Green suffered embarrassing losses against minnows USA and arch-rivals India. Apart from Mohsin Naqvi, other former players of Pakistan have also criticized the team for their unimpressive performances in both matches.
Naqvi further ripped through the team, saying that the team needed major changes and some players needed to be dropped from the setup. Naqvi said that major surgery is needed for the Pakistan team after their performance in the ongoing World Cup edition.
In his interaction with the media, Mohsin Naqvi said, “”It seemed initially that a minor surgery would suffice, but following the extremely poor performance against India, it is clear that a major surgery is necessary.”
This is the 7th time that Pakistan has suffered a loss against India in world T20s in eight matches. Mohsin Naqvi feels that the board will investigate the team’s performance.
Naqvi said, “It is very disappointing the way we lost to the USA and now this loss to India. We need to now start looking at players beyond those on the team right now,” he said.
“Why the team is not performing is something everyone is asking. The World Cup is still on. But, obviously, we will sit down and take a look at everything.”
The PCB chief further added that they will now shift their focus to building a good team for the Champions Trophy as Pakistan is set to host the trophy in the following year.
