Team India not to play any more ODIs before champions trophy. Here’s the reason

The men in blue, along with eight other teams, will be seen in action for another ICC trophy after the completion of the World Cup. In the span of 15 months after the completion of the 2023 World Cup, India is set to play the ICC Champions Trophy.

As of now, Pakistan is the official host of the upcoming ICC event, which is scheduled to be held in February. There could be changes happening in the upcoming month if India refuses to travel to Pakistan.

The ICC Champions Trophy is coming back after 2017. However, the tournament is scheduled to be played in February, but Team India has no ODIs scheduled until the month of January next year.

The Indian players are currently playing in the in the IPL, which is followed by the Twenty20 World Cup. Soon after the completion of the World Cup, India is set to play against Zimbabwe in a five-match T20 series.
The home schedule for Team India is yet to be confirmed. India is set to host Bangladesh and New Zealand for five test matches. Apart from these teams, India will also play five test matches against Australia.

This indicates an action-packed schedule for Team India. This could be a big problem for Rohit Sharma and his company heading into the tournament. Nevertheless, the chances are still there for Team India if BCCI hosts an Odi series either against New Zealand or Bangladesh.

As of now, Team India is not going to play any one-day matches before the Champions Trophy 2025.
