Team India Gets A New Sponsor , BCCI Ends Association With Byju’s

BCCI is going through various changes after a huge loss to Australia in the final of the ICC Test Championship. The most popular online fantasy gaming platform Dream11 is ready to take up the role of the new jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had opened a tender for this opportunity on June 14, and according to reliable sources, Dream 11 has secured this deal.

Byju’s had a contract with the BCCI, which was optional and set to last until November. However, Byju’s made the decision to terminate the contract in March. As a result, the Indian cricket team has been without a jersey sponsor since then. Rohit Sharma and company recently played the World Test Championship final at the London Oval without a sponsor logo on their jerseys.

When BCCI was with Byju’s, they were getting a whopping 5.5 crores for every bilateral match within ICC. But now the value has been dropped to 1.7 crore and thus BCCI moved to another way. However, the amount which will be provided by Dream11 will be a bit lesser than Byju’s. BCCI has now reduced its price to 3 crore per match. If it is an ICC tournament or the match of Asian Cricket Council, BCCI will get an amount of 1 Crore for each match.

If we talk about Byju’s they used to pay around 287 crores in 2018. They increased this amount to 450 crore in 2023. When the Indian Cricket Team played the WTC final, the players sported new training and match jerseys provided by Adidas. Now, fans can expect the Dream11 logo on the Indian jersey from the upcoming West Indies series.
