Team India and BCCI are yet to announce the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. The 8th edition of the T20 world cup will be hosted by Australia and for that every team has started their preparation and marking players to make a perfect team.
Meanwhile, there is a clear message for the chairman of Indian Cricket Team selection Committee- Chetan Sharma. 1983-World Cup winner Krishnamachari Srikkanth has urged his former India teammate, Chetan Sharma, to select the ‘right’ team for the T20 World Cup 2022. Srikkanth also said that if Chetan Sharma needs any kind of advice, he can give him a ring and to Ravi Shastri as well.
With the world cup starting in october, Team India is still looking to make a balanced and impressive squad for this cut-throat competition. The selection panel is looking more puzzled as the newly and emerging kids have done exceptional in past few series.
While speaking on the Fan Code Broadcast during the 1st T20I between India and West Indies, Srikkanth said,”If they pick the right combination then Chetan Sharma, who has played a lot of cricket with us,…ee Chetu (Chetan) aab correct team select karna. Advice chahiye toh mere ko phone kar do, Ravi (Shastri) ko call kardo, humdono aacha guidance denge aapko” (Hey Chetam, select the correct team this time. If you need any advice, call me, call Ravi. Both of us can give you good guidance)”.
Speaking on the rapid changes and trials that team India is doing in every matches and series, Srikkanth said that whatever they are doing is absolutely fine but they just need to make sure that Asia Cup is the last stage till when they can carry on such experiments.
In the first T20I against the West Indies team India again saw an opening change where Suryakumar Yadav joined the party with captain Rohit Sharma. India managed to win the match by the margin of 68 runs and it will be interesting to see what India offer to fans in the next venture.
