The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is just a few weeks away with West Indies and USA co-hosting the tournament. Despite West Indies winning the tournament twice previously, their recent performance has not been up to par. However, cricket fans are expecting that West Indies will comeback with a blast as the T20 tournament will be played at their ground.
The star bowling all-rounder of team Sunil Narine has chosen not to end his retirement and return to the team. However, he has been performing exceptionally well in the Indian Premier League 2024, excelling both as a batsman and a bowler. Narine has scored over 400 runs with the help of one century and three half-centuries, not only this he has got 14 wickets as well.
Former Indian cricketer Varun Aaron has suggested something important to the West Indies Cricket Board. He thinks that the board should choose Gautam Gambhir as their mentor.
“West Indies should bring Gautam Gambhir on board as their mentor. He is the only person who can convince Sunil Narine to come out of retirement. Narine has been amazing in this season and he can help the West Indies in the T20 World Cup,” Varun Aaron said on Star Sports.
