T20 World Cup 2024: If India Reach Top-4, Rohit Sharma’s Team To Play Semifinal At This Place

In an interesting development, If India advances to the last four stages of the T20 World Cup, they will play the second semifinal in Guyana on June 27. According to the ICC’s playing conditions for the tournament in the USA and Caribbean, a reserve day is only allocated for the final, which is scheduled for June 29 in Barbados.

The report reads, “If India qualifies for the semi-finals, they will play in the second semi-final scheduled for Guyana on the 27 June 2024.”

The scheduling decision was influenced by the timing of the semifinals in Trinidad and Guyana. The first semifinal, set for June 26 in Trinidad, is a night match, while the knockout game in Guyana is a day fixture. This arrangement is more convenient for the Indian TV audience.

The second semifinal is scheduled to begin at 8:30 PM IST and will have an additional period of 250 minutes allotted if the match is affected by weather conditions.

“The Final on 29 June will have a reserve day on 30 June. The semi-finals will each have additional time added to complete the match which will total 250 minutes.”

“For the first semi-final on 26 June, 60 minutes will be available at the end of the day’s play with the remaining 190 minutes scheduled for 2 pm on 27 June.”

“Whilst the additional 250 minutes for the second semi-final scheduled on 27 June will be utilized if needed through extended playing hours on the scheduled day.”
