Suryakumar Yadav wants revenge from this side because of what they did to India

The BCCI and ICC have released the full itinerary for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which is to be jointly staged by India and Sri Lanka. India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur along with the 2024 T20 World Cup-winning skipper Rohit Sharma were present at the ceremony and they were accompanied by some of the top officials from BCCI and ICC.

At the event, Suryakumar Yadav was inquired if his team had a preferred rival they wanted to face in the final, to which the veteran player said with assurance: Australia at Ahmedabad.

Suryakumar Yadav seeking for 2023 World Cup revenge

While on JioHotstar, Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav was questioned whether there was any particular team that India would like to meet in the final of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The veteran player chose Australia to be his adversary, particularly at the legendary Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

For those who do not know, the same Ahmedabad-based venue was the one where India and Australia met in the final of the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in November 2023. The Indian squad, led by Rohit Sharma, was assured about their chances of winning the celebration but the day turned out to be a nightmare for them as they lost to Pat Cummins and his team in front of a sold-out stadium.

Among the playing XI of that final, Suryakumar Yadav was there, and the recollection still seems fresh, inflicting his yearning for a different conclusion three and a half months from now on the same platform.

Alongside his guidance, Team India also recently achieved a notable 2-1 series victory against Australia in their territory earlier this month.

Currently, Suryakumar Yadav and his fellow T20I soldiers are preparing to combat the South African team.
